Wanslea has commenced the Connected Beginnings program in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder region. It is an initiative that aims to support the integration of early childhood, maternal and child health, and family support services into three primary schools in the Goldfields.
The focus of the program is to assist families in ensuring their children are well prepared for school and to improve their educational outcomes.
Wanslea will provide support for Aboriginal families to get involved in early childhood services that are currently offered in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder area. Services from across the health and education sectors will be working together to provide a place for families to share their information and only tell their story once.
The Connected Beginnings program operates at Wanslea’s three partner schools - East Kalgoorlie Primary, Boulder and South Kalgoorlie Primary Schools and is based at the East Kalgoorlie school site.
This program is funded by the Australian Government, Department of Education and Training through the Community Child Care Fund and is supported by the Minderoo Foundation.
