Reunification in the Wheatbelt
Reconnecting a child who has been removed from his or her family is the intention of the reunification program. It is a highly emotional and challenging time for the child, the parents and foster parents who may be involved. Wanslea works closely with other organisations, such as the Department of Child Protection and Family Support that funds our reunification service.
As with every situation involving children we are always working in the best interests of the child. Compassion, understanding and experience are crucial for a successful outcome.
If you find yourself in this situation you can be confident that we have the skills and expertise to give you the direct support that you need and to help create a support network for you. We will support you no matter how hard the going may get or how difficult your situation is. By planning and working through each stage together we create an environment of understanding and respect for children, parents, and foster parents. We will help you to build and develop the parenting skills that you will need to care for your child, in a safe, nurturing environment.
This service is funded by the Department for Child Protection and Family Support and only available in the Wheatbelt.
