Community Capacity Building Officer - Cockburn

Wanslea has been selected as a Partner in the Community to deliver Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) services across multiple West Australian locations.

Wanslea is seeking a passionate and engaging individual with a degree qualification in health promotion, community development or related discipline with demonstrated experience in designing community engagement frameworks for health, education and/or community organisations.

The Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) approach supports children who have a developmental delay or disability and their families/carers. Supporting families to help children develop the skills they need to take part in daily activities and achieve the best possible outcomes throughout their life is a fundamental part of the ECEI approach. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of a Community Capacity Building Plan incorporating community education, partnerships and community building strategies in line with the NDIA’s program requirements working collaboratively with a range of key stakeholders to develop region wide initiatives that are consistent with meeting identified needs in the community and the objectives of the service.

Ideally, you will have a good awareness and understanding of the functional and social impact of disability and the importance of social inclusion with a demonstrated commitment and ability to maintain an ethical, inclusive and nonjudgmental approach to disability.
