    About you

    We are looking for passionate, dedicated and highly skilled social worker who is resourceful, motivated and can demonstrate initiative. You will have the natural ability to easily engage and build rapport quickly with children at risk and foster families as well as have a high level of professional accountability and integrity.


    The Role

  • Ensure the delivery of professional casework service to foster families and children at risk using best practice standards

  • Provide and develop social work services for children who need foster care and their families

  • Support Foster Carers and link them with any services that will ensure the best care for the children placed with them

  • Develop and deliver training and provide supervision and case consultation

  • Initiate collaborative professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders including State Government departments and other agencies who provide services to families and children at risk

  • Work occasionally outside of normal office hours, including being part of the after-hours on call roster

     

    You will bring with you all the essential criteria ….

     

    • Degree in Social Work or recognised equivalent

    • Eligible for Membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers

    • Extensive experience working with foster families and children in care

    • High level of knowledge and understanding of family functioning, child development and parenting skills

    • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a successful multi-disciplinary team

    • Experience in case management

    • Satisfactory current National Police Clearance

    • Demonstrated understanding of ‘child safe’ environment

    • Current Working With Children Card

    • Current West Australian Driver’s Licence and access to a road worthy motor vehicle suitable for work purposes that is licensed at the Standard Rate
